STRESS AND SKIN

We live in a world where stress is kind of omnipresent. One can't imagine a life without stress.  The trick is to understand and learn how much stress to take and how much to avoid.And more importantly, how to manage stress.
In last two years we all have gone through a universal stress situation and we also know that many of us had undergone extreme stress levels and many of us were able to have a control on the same.
Human life consists of various conditions, situations or circumstances, wherein one can't cease to undergo stress, completely.But the wise and healthy option is to not make stress a part of one's lifestyle.
The psychological studies say that some amount of stress is required for better competence and performance, at the same time one should be able to draw the line where to stop stress from affecting our physical and mental well-being.
Therefore, if stress is not acknowledged and managed properly, it will affect our overall personality, including the way we look, our skin and it's conditions.
In human body, the skin is the largest organ.It holds fluids, preventing dehydration and keeps harmful microbes out, also preventing infections.Anything that irritates, clogs or inflames the skin can cause redness, swelling, burning and itching.
Allergies, irritants and genetic makeup, certain diseases and immune system problems can cause rashes, hives and other skin conditions.Your body responds to changes in your psychological state.Conditions like stress, depression and anxiety can cause skin issues, or can flare up the existing ones.
Stress leads to harmonal changes, an increase in cortisol and adrenaline hormones.
Higher cortisol levels increases the oil production in your skin glands, which leads to clogged pores and acne breakouts.
Stress caused by sleep deprivation can cause ageing signs in skin, like fine lines, loss of elasticity, under-eye bags and uneven pigmentation.
Skin conditions like Psoriasis, Rosacea and Eczema gets aggravated by stress.
